TARARUA ROAD GRAVEL SPRINT
Saturday. 23 April 2011
1. JURISDICTION
This Event is a ClubSport Advanced Gravel Sprint promoted by the Dannevirke Car Club Inc and will take place
on Saturday, 23 April 2011 on Tararua Road, Pahiatua.
The Meeting will be held under the MotorSport NZ National Sporting Code and its Appendices and Schedules
particularly the ClubSport Standing Regulations, Appendix Five, Schedule C.

3. THE EVENT
3.1 Venue – The event will be held on Tararua Road, Pahiatua with documentation and scrutineering at
Tui HQ, Conference Room, State Highway 2, Mangatainoka. Tararua Road is at the end of the
Pahiatua Track, between Makomako and Ballance Valley Roads, and is 100% gravel.
3.2 Length – the event is 4.85 kms long with 54 corners. The road is in excellent condition.
3.3 A co-driver is not required. All vehicles are eligible for all runs, there will be no elimination runs.
3.4 Official and Observations Runs – there will be one observation run, with four timed runs. The
number of runs being dependent upon the total number of entries received, and force majeure on the
day.
3.5 Return to Start Line – Please note that this will be on Open Road. The Loop is 10.7 kms long, and
can be completed in approximately 7 minutes at 90 kmph. Your vehicle is required to have a current
warrant of fitness and current registration. The driver must have and carry with them their civil
driver licence. No exceptions, unless you intend to trailer your vehicle from the Finish Line back to
the Start Line.
3.6 Service Park is across the road from the Start Line.
3.7 The HQ caravan will be situated on Tararua Road just prior to the Start Line.
4. ENTRIES
4.1 Entries open with the publication of these Regulations and close on Friday, 8 April 2011. Entries
postmarked or emailed after the normal closing date but received before Monday 18 April, will be
subject to late entry fee.
4.2 Entry Acceptance shall be made on the Official Entry Form attached, and to be deemed valid, must
be complete in all details and accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. Acceptance will be at the
Organising Committees’ discretion.
4.3 Easter Special Entry - If your are entering on Saturday and Sunday the total entry fee is
$200.00 for the weekend. Late entry fee will be $250.00. For this event on its own – the
entry fee will be $130.00 per entry. Late Entry Fee will be $160.00. Please note that late
entry fees will be enforced for these events – so please enter early. Cheques will be banked
on normal closing date.
4.4 Dual Entries will be accepted, but it is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that they are
ready to start in the correct starting order to be advised, or the run will be forfeited.
4.5 Number of Starters will be a maximum of 50.
(a) The organisers reserve the right to abandon the event if less than 30 entries are received by
the normal closing date.
(b) Should entries be over-subscribed a reserve list in order of receipt and payment will be made.
At the close of entries, 8 April 2011, those on the Reserve List will be notified if their entry has
been accepted or not.
4.6 Letter of Acceptance this will be EMAILED to you on Friday, 15, April 2011 advising you of your
vehicle number and seeding order, and any other official information that may be necessary. Please
ensure that you include an email address on the Entry Form, printed clearly so that it can be
read accurately.
5. CLASSES
A. 0 – 1600cc 2WD
B. 1601 - 2500cc 2WD
C. 2501 - over 2WD
D. 4WD Pre Year 2000
E. 4WD 2001 – 2011
All vehicles will run in Numerical order at all times.
5.1 Best Run – the best time from any of the runs count for the Class and Overall placings.
6. DOCUMENTATION AND SCRUTINEERING AUDIT
6.1 Competitors must present themselves at documentation for the checking of licences and documents,
issuing of competitor numbers and applicable advertising material before presenting the car for audit
scrutineering. Cars will not be cleared until numbers and advertising are firmly affixed in the
appropriate places on the vehicle.
The venue for this is at Tui HQ, Conference Room, State Highway 2, Mangatainoka between 8.30am
and 9.30am on Saturday, 23 April 2011.
7. DRIVERS BRIEFING
A verbal briefing will be given at the Start Line of the venue at 10.30am. A roll call will be held, all
drivers are required to attend.
8. OBSERVATION RUN
The observation run will commence immediately after the Driver Briefing. This run will be in CONVOY
ONLY.
9. TIMING
Rally timing and basic time cards will be used. Cars will start at one minute intervals. The clocks used
will be accurate to 0.1 seconds (1/10ths).
10. ACCIDENT DAMAGE
All competitors the insurance excess applicable to the event is $1,000.00. If you cause any damage
to property during the permitted times of the event you will be liable for the cost of the repairs up to
the excess. If damage repair costs are greater than $1,000.00, you will be liable for the full excess of
$1,000.00 if a claim is made by organisers and approved. If a claim is made and declined you will be
responsible for the full amount of the repair. Failure to report any damage is a breach of these
regulations and will result in exclusion from the event. If you do cause damage to fences or other
property you must advise an Official at the HQ caravan situated adjacent to the Start Line.
11. RUN NOTES AND RECONNAISSANCE
Run notes will not be supplied. You may create notes during the observation run only. You may not
hold up the convoy to do these notes.
12. CAR NUMBERS
The car numbers issued to you are the property of the Dannevirke Car Club. You are required to return
them to the HQ caravan BEFORE you leave the venue. If they are not returned you will be sent an
account for $25.00 per set for their replacement. Please ensure you have tape to affix them to the
front doors of your car.
13. GENERAL INFORMATION
Accommodation – Remember this is Easter – there are plenty of motels hotels and camp grounds
available in Pahiatua and Woodville. Drinks and Meals – will be available at the venue in the Service
Park – please support our local fund-raisers.
Prize Giving – will be held at the Tui HQ on Saturday, 23 April 2011, approximately 5.00pm.
Drinks and meals will be available. There will be a BBQ meal at a cost of $20.00 each, and will be by
ticket only. Please indicate on your entry form how many meals you wish to purchase. Tickets will
also be available at Documentation. You may pay for these with your entry form, or at Documentation.
If you are entering the whole weekend we can not have the end of weekend prizegiving on licensed
premises – hotels are shut on Easter Sunday. Therefore we are planning a prizegiving at the Pahaheke
event for that event and the overall winners of the weekend. More details in the Acceptance of Entry.
